New Delhi: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday announced a layoff of 11,000 employees globally, with about 13% of employees across the company’s multiple divisions. In a letter to META employees, Zuckerberg explained the layoffs and the process that will be followed.

“Today I’m sharing some of the most difficult changes I’ve made in Meta’s history. I’ve made the decision to reduce the size of my team by about 13% and let go of our more than 11,000 talented employees. We’re cutting discretionary spending and increasing its hiring freeze through Q1 to become a leaner and more efficient company,” Mark Zuckerberg said in a blog post.
