Meta confirms that the brief outage that affected Facebook and Instagram has been fixed, with the websites now working for most users.

Facebook parent company Meta has confirmed that a technical issue affecting access to Facebook and Instagram services for thousands of users has been fixed, and the websites are now functional for most users.

“Due to a technical issue some people had trouble accessing our products. “We resolved the issue as quickly as possible,” a Meta spokesperson told Reuters.

At the peak of the outage, Facebook saw more than 11,000 incidents, while Instagram saw nearly 7,000 cases, according to DownDetector.com. It was also reported that users encountered difficulties with Facebook’s online Messenger messaging service.

DownDetector is a website that collects information on outages by collecting status updates from a variety of sources – including user reports submitted to their platform.

As of 08:30 p.m. Eastern Time (01:30 GMT), the number of outages had dropped to 11 for Instagram and 81 for Facebook, according to Reuters.

In other news, Twitter also suffered outages, leaving some users unable to tweet with an error message saying “You have exceeded the daily limit for sending tweets.”

Information from DownDetector shows that around 5 p.m. Eastern Time, Twitter was unavailable for approximately 9,000 users in the United States. As of 6 p.m. Eastern, there were 2,500 fewer outages.

Twitter’s support account confirmed the incident and said, “Twitter may not be working as expected for some of you. Sorry for the trouble. We’re aware and working to fix it.” Have been.”
