Meta will launch a digital clothing store so users can buy outfits for avatars

New Delhi: Tech giant Meta is opening an online store where users of Facebook, Instagram and Messenger can buy virtual apparel for their avatars. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the opening of the “Avatar Store” in a Facebook post. Prada, Balenciaga and Thom Browne will be the first digital clothing brands to be introduced by Meta. Free clothing options will still be available for meta avatars, even though outfit prices have yet to be determined.

According to Zuckerberg, new fashion attire options give consumers a means to express themselves through their avatars. The company will start selling digital clothing next week. (Also Read: Strange Incident! Woman Orders Chair On Amazon, Found Vial Of Blood)

They wrote, “We’re launching our Avatar Store on Facebook, Instagram and Messenger so you can buy digital clothes to style your avatar. Digital goods are a vital way to express yourself in the metaverse and a big driver of the creative economy.” Way to go. I’m excited to add more brands and bring it to VR soon. Meta is improving the appearance of its avatars in an effort to create a “metaverse”. The internet giant upgraded its avatars for Facebook and Messenger and added 3D avatars to Instagram earlier this year. Avatars now have more faces, skin tones, and accessibility tools. Businesses now enable customers to use the same avatar across all meta platforms such as Virtual Reality, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.
