Mettur dam flow increased

The water flow in Mettur’s Stanley reservoir increased to 33,681 cusecs on Sunday.

The water flow increased from 28,587 cusecs on Saturday to 30,723 cusecs at 8 am and increased to 33,681 cusecs at 4 pm.

The volume of water discharged into the Cauvery is 30,000 cusecs, including 23,000 cusecs through the dam and power house tunnel and 7,000 cusecs through the 16-vent surplus sluice. The amount of let through East-West Bank canals for canal irrigation is kept at 500 cusecs. For the ninth consecutive day, the water level remained at full 120 feet.

Officials of the Water Resources Department said that the rains have increased the water flow in the catchment areas.
