What we know so far:
The MG4 Electric will have a range of up to 350 km or a 450 km WLTP cycle. It will be offered in two different battery packs of either 51 kWh or 64 kWh capacity. A 51 kWh battery will power a 125kW motor and a 64 kWh battery will power a 150kW motor. Among other performance specifications, 0-100 mph in less than 8 seconds and a top speed of 160 kmph have also been announced. The MG4 Electric will also feature SAIC Motor’s ‘One Pack’ battery system.

Mr. Zhu Jun, Deputy Chief Engineer, SAIC Motor, says: ‘In the ‘One Pack’ battery system developed by SAIC Motor, all batteries on a modular scalable platform have the same launch area; Connectors related to other components are also similar. Under this design concept, theoretically, a battery capacity of 40 kWh to 150 kWh can be easily achieved. It can meet the energy requirements of A0 to D class models, providing users with flexible and diverse options. Users can buy a small battery first, and then replace and upgrade when needed over a longer distance.’
