Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar produced his best performance in his team’s match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, May 17. After conceding 26 runs in his first three overs, the veteran Indian pacer bowled a wicket maiden in the final over of MI’s run-chase when the opposition needed 19 runs to win off 13 balls.

Bhuvneshwar dismissed Sanjay Yadav, after which Jasprit Bumrah, himself known for bowling yorkers, didn’t know much about the SRH pacers. On the stellar performance of his bowling, Kumar said that he tried to keep it simple and did not allow the batsmen to hit boundaries.

“I was just looking to bowl yorkers because I know that even if I miss, there is less chance of him not going for the boundary. I knew we could come under pressure if I gave boundaries, but I was just looking to stick to yorkers,” Bhuvneshwar said after the match.

Bhuvneshwar came under fire after he failed to perform in the 2021 IPL. He also flattered to cheat for Team India in the T20 World Cup 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, the veteran pacer is at his best in the current edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In 13 matches, Kumar has taken 12 wickets at an excellent economy rate of 7.19, which is the best among SRH fast bowlers. The seamer said that he is quite satisfied with the way he has bowled this season. “I am very satisfied with the way I have bowled this season,” he said.

The Orange Army kept their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive after beating the five-time champions by 3 runs on Tuesday.
