Microsoft Teams is a social media app

Microsoft has created a sample app for Teams that allows people to sign documents during remote meetings.

According to Windows Central, the application lets users add a document, such as a purchase agreement, invoice, or NDA, for meeting attendees to sign. The sample app was created by Teams Ecosystem Engineering as a proof of concept for the purpose of independent software vendors (ISVs) or other customers implementing it.

The report states that the entire project is available and documented on GitHub, which should help organizations that want to use it in meetings.

The app allows users to add a document to a meeting that can be reviewed or signed by attendees. It supports Teams Single-Sign-On (SSO) for authentication. The report mentions that it also supports content sharing during the meeting phase, adaptive cards and Team People Picker.

Microsoft noted that the app can be adapted to work with other scenarios that require a sign off, such as code review and approval or working together on a document. The sample app is currently available for the team’s desktop client. Mobile and web support is ongoing, the report said, although Microsoft did not specify when the feature was announced in a tech community post.

Currently, the app only works with users from the same organization or tenant. Guest and anonymous user support is also on the way, it added.
