Oatmeal (or oats) is probably one of the healthiest superfoods to add to our breakfast meals. Most of us would be aware of this amazingly versatile grain and how it can be incorporated into various dishes. Whether it’s baked oats or oats granola, overnight oats or oatmeal cookies – there are tons of ways to eat this humble meal. It also provides many health benefits for us, from lowering cholesterol to promoting weight loss. That’s why many health enthusiasts swear by high-fiber, low-calorie oatmeal to start their day. Actor-producer Mindy Kaling also pledged to try eating oatmeal as part of her New Year’s resolution for the year 2022. Take a look at his tweet:
My single New Year’s resolution is to go to oatmeal. Any suggestions? (And please not the squishy cold type from last night) — Mindy Kaling (@mindykaling) 9 January 2022

Losing weight and eating healthy is one of the most common resolutions taken in the new year. Mindy Kaling’s Resolution was no different, as she said her only aim this year was to eat oatmeal. She wrote on Twitter, “My lonely New Year is to indulge in oatmeal. Any suggestions? (And please not the squishy cold kind from the night before).” When asked what kind of oats she prefers, she said, “I think I like it smooth and sweet like the McDonald’s oatmeal I once had.”
Enthusiastic Twitter users gave their suggestions for the actor-producer. Many of them shared their personal oatmeal recipes that they incorporated into their daily diet. Some suggested sweet versions made with berries, nuts, and honey. Others add savory flavors of oatmeal by including vegetables and eggs in their dishes. An interesting suggestion came from ‘Lunchbox’ director Ritesh Batra too.

Mind you, this is what I am best at. I had a club in high school called the Breakfast Club where we would make different hot cereals every morning. I think the first key is to figure out what kind of oatmeal texture you like: thick, crispy, etc. To find your base—Ashley Ray, Kate Winslet’s Vape Coach (@theeashleyray) 9 January 2022
I add half an apple or a banana and add at the end of the oats cooking and reheat it… I always like to add cinnamon… and top with blueberries and almond flakes! — Nathalie Emmanuel (@missnemmanuel) 9 January 2022
Start by boiling coconut milk, then add cinnamon and almond butter to it. Add real oatmeal afterwards. Before adding the oatmeal to the oatmeal, put some chopped apples, nuts of your choice and chia seeds in a bowl. Top with a small dash of honey. Mix.—Jerica Tisdale (@jtwritergirl) 9 January 2022
Steep chopped oats with a little cinnamon and honey/brown sugar. Delicious.—Dana Goldberg (@DGComedy) 9 January 2022
Cook steel-cut oats quickly. Best 7 minutes of your day. Keep 1 cup of water to boil. Add 1/2 cup oats, let it come to a boil. Cook 6 minutes, stirring in bananas, blueberries, raisins, whatever. Sit for 1 minute. Add coconut milk and a little peanut butter. Enjoy! – Drew R. Garabo (@DrewOnTheRadio) 9 January 2022

Add blueberries, brown sugar, and a dash of coffee—Emily Nussbaum (@emilynussbaum) 9 January 2022
I do this every morning! Regular oats are submerged in a ceramic bowl that is deep enough (so it doesn’t overflow). Add water just above the line of oats. Microwave for 2 minutes. A scoop of peanut butter, a splash of Ripple Milk and some berries if I’m feeling really fancy.—Dana Fox (@inthehenhouse) 9 January 2022

The great thing about oatmeal is how dynamic the grain is. In fact, oats can be substituted and used in many Indian breakfast recipes as well. Oats Cheela, Oats Idli and Oats Ladoo are just a few of the many recipes made from oatmeal. click here For more oats-based recipes.
