Daltonganj: A Class VII student was bitten to death by a scorpion Khaira Dohari Villages of Patan block of Kishunpur police station area Palamu on Saturday. Arbaaz Ansari (14) was buried on Sunday.

Former civil surgeon Dr Anil Kumar said that scorpion stings can cause myocarditis and death in some cases. Out of 1,500 varieties of scorpion, stings of 30 can prove fatal if anti-venom injections are not given in time. He warned that scorpion stings can cause severe anaphylaxis, where death can occur from rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, muscle twitches, high blood pressure, excessive sweating, and nervousness.
