Dona Paula:

Taking a jibe at Punjab Congress, Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal on Friday arrested Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey in a money laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Kejriwal said in Dona Paula today, “(Charanjit Singh) Channi managed to do miracles within 111 days. It takes 4 to 5 years for people to indulge in this kind of corruption. It is unfortunate. People are watching and Punjab deserves an honest government.”

Seeing the exodus of Congress leaders in the middle of the election season, Mr Kejriwal, who is on a visit to Goa, dodged a question on the possibility of the AAP forging an alliance with the Congress.

Addressing reporters, Mr Kejriwal said, “We will think about it if Congress MLAs stay in the party… they will all switch to the BJP within 24 hours.”

Ahead of the upcoming Goa Assembly elections, Mr Kejriwal promised a bunch of incentives for the people from the Scheduled Tribe community if voted to power.

“If our government is formed here, we will provide a tribal sub-plan budget to spend on tribals, fill 3000 vacancies, implement Forest Rights Act, give 12.5 per cent reservation in assembly, provide free healthcare , will provide free education, up to Rs.1000 per month for each woman and employment up to Rs.3000 per month,” he said.

Goa assembly elections will be held on February 14. The results will be declared on March 10.
