Miss Universe 2021 ceremony at Harnaz Sandhu College; Teachers, students rejoice at his victory

21-year-old Harnaaz Sadhu has made the entire nation proud after bringing home the crown of Miss Universe 2021. After completing her school, Harnaaz went on to pursue higher studies at the Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector 42 in Chandigarh. Hearing the news of his victory, his college principal, teachers as well as students were overjoyed and felt proud. They also celebrated her victory by dancing together on the college campus.
GCG 42 Principal Professor Nisha Agarwal told ANI that she is very proud of her student. “We are very proud of Harnaaz Sandhu. She was a student of MA Public Administration and passed BA IT from this college. She was a very good student – honest, obedient, respectable and very hardworking,” she said.
Professor Aggarwal further talks about his incredible journey. “She wanted to be Miss India and she achieved it. She also participated in Miss World and was selected from first 10 finalists. Then she participated in Miss India Universe and she won and now she is crowned Miss Universe The college is very proud of him. He has made not only India, but Chandigarh as well as the college proud,” she shared.
He said that Harnaaz was also good in studies. “She was a good student. Even though she was attending Miss Universe, she was in touch with her teachers and attending online classes. She is an intelligent student.” College students also expressed pride and happiness over Harnaaz’s achievement.
“Harnaz Di has proved that our seniors act as our role models. We have learned a lot from him. I am very happy to know that he is from our college. He has inspired us that even though we Fail, there is always another option. He has taught us that failure is the moment to rise and shine,” said Dipanshi Thakur, a student.
Nandini, a student, said, “Her victory is a double celebration for us as she has not only made the country proud but has also made this college proud. We congratulate you didi.” The 70th Miss Universe 21 was held in Eilat, Israel. Harnaaz has previously won several pageant titles including LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2021 and Femina Miss India Punjab 2019. She will also be seen in Punjabi films like ‘Yaara Diya Poo Baran’ and ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’.
