Nashik: Dilip Datir has been arrested by the city police. Nashik City President of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), regarding registration of a case against him at Sarkarwada police station on Wednesday, May 4.
On Sunday, the Crime Branch personnel got information that Datir is in Pathardi Phata area. The police swung into action and arrested him.
Datir was among the eight people charged under IPC sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 290 (punishment for public nuisance in cases not otherwise provided) and 291 (continuing nuisance after prohibition) Case was registered. Maharashtra Police Act.
Mahendra Chavan, senior PI of Satpur police station, said that though Datir was granted bail, he has appealed to the court to take him out of the city for a month as his presence may disturb the law and order situation in the city.
