Mobile Digital X-Ray Unit launched

A mobile digital X-ray unit to test people for tuberculosis in the district was flagged off on Monday by Collector P. Sri Venkada Priya and Perambalur MLA M. Prabhakaran.

A mobile unit costing around ₹45 lakh has been deployed as part of the health department’s efforts to eradicate tuberculosis by 2025. The unit will visit different parts of the district to conduct doorstep screening of people for possible infection and spit out. testing. Follow-up treatment will be given to those with the disease.

The Collector also administered the oath of World Population Day and distributed prizes to the winners of essay writing and painting competitions organized to mark the day.
