Anushka shared a picture of the same and people were left in awe. ‘TBH I imagined the dancing girl from Mohenjodaro to be a bit older.’

Twitter user Anushka shared a picture of the iconic statue of the ‘dancing girl’ from Mohenjodaro. For those who don’t know, this is a bronze statue made 4,500 years ago. Found at the ancient Mohenjodaro site in 1926, it is considered by many to be a rare piece of art. It is a cultural artifact that reflects the aesthetics of a female body. The Bronze Girl was made using the lost-wax casting technique and perfectly illustrates the expertise of the people in making bronze related items at the time.

Now, during her visit to a museum, Anushka has shared a picture of the same and people are left in awe. “TBH I imagined the dancing girl of Mohenjodaro to be a bit older. My hand for reference! Such a beautiful carefree girl. The more you look at her, the more you fall in love with her,” read the caption.

In another tweet, he wrote, ‘There is a lot going on in your mind. To think that someone made that well over 5000 years ago and now I’m seeing it in a museum. Both the sculptor and I share something in common with time! I can only imagine how the archaeologists who dug her up must have felt when she was found.”

“Oh my god, there was a picture of her on the cover of our history book and I always thought she’d be at least human size. And erl it’s this cute little thing??”

Here are some responses:

There were many who were attracted to its beauty.
