Monkey menace is quite common in many parts of India, where they snatch things from people and sometimes enter homes in search of food. Recently in Vrindavan, Mathura, a monkey snatched the glasses of the District Magistrate.
A video of the incident was shared on Twitter by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Praveen Kaswan. It shows DM Navneet Chahal and several policemen gathered under a building and searching for a way to remove glasses. Some monkeys can also be seen jumping around the building. After keeping the men on their toes for a while, the monkey finally gives back the glasses.
“If you had not seen someone more powerful than the District Magistrate of any district in India. Monkey snatched glasses from DM Navneet Chahal in Vrindavan, Mathura. After a few pleas, the monkeys returned the glasses,” read the caption.

happened to me! I was sitting in an auto and a monkey came from somewhere and snatched my glasses and climbed on a pole. Within seconds a little boy came, threw a fruity for the monkey and the monkey dropped the glass. The boy asked for Rs 50. This episode barely lasted 5 minutes

One user wrote that monkeys often snatch things and they should be given food to get them back.
I have had similar experience in Vrindavan last month, they are well trained, someone should give fruits or sweets
