The study report showed that gay or bisexual contact was denied in all five cases.

“All cases denied a history of same-sex contact or bisexual contact. This report describes five cases of human monkeypox infection from India without any international travel history,” the report said.

The study noted that viral load kinetics and viral clearance were estimated in oropharyngeal swabs (OPS), nasopharyngeal swabs (NPS), EDTA blood, serum, urine and various lesion samples ranging from 5-24 posts every fourth of follow-up. was installed during the day. Day of disease onset (POD). It said that all five cases had mild to moderate intermittent fever, myalgia and sores on the genitals, groin, lower limb, trunk and upper limb.

Not all cases were vaccinated against smallpox or monkeypox virus. Confirmed monkeypox cases presented between 5–14 days after disease onset (POD). Of the five cases, three were males and two females with a mean age of 31.2 years and presented with mild to moderate grade intermittent fever with myalgia.

The study also showed that urine, mouth, throat swabs are also suitable samples for detecting monkeypox.

“The presence of a high viral load in the cases’ lesion samples demonstrates it as the best sample type for the detection of MPXV DNA. However, OPS, NPS and urine were also found to be other suitable samples. Developments in clinical Presentation of cases of monkeypox taking into account [single lesion/other symptoms without lesions/asymptomatic]OPS, NPS and urine samples can be used for MPXV diagnosis.”

how does it spread

Monkeypox is a disease caused by infection with the human monkeypox virus, which comes from the virus family similar to smallpox.

In fact, symptoms are similar to chickenpox and include fever, headache, muscle aches, chills, and cold symptoms (such as cough or sore throat).

Symptoms also occur with a rash appearing in blisters on the face, genitals, chest and back, and on the hands and feet.

Some people also experience very painful sores in or under the mouth. For most people, the disease usually resolves within two to three weeks.

Monkeypox is spread through close physical contact with an infected person.

Usually this means skin-to-skin contact, especially exposure to disease-causing rashes and skin lesions. But it can also spread through large respiratory droplets (such as coughing and sneezing).

It can also be spread through contact with sheets, towels or other clothing that has come into contact with an infected person’s wounds. We know that the virus can persist on surfaces for a long time – sometimes for several weeks.

according to a study, 95 percent of monkeypox So far the infection was spread as a result of sexual contact.

Meanwhile as per the latest report of WHO on 25 August, it has been stated that the number of monkeypox Globally reported cases fell 21 percent last week, reversing a month-long trend of rising infections and a possible sign that the outbreak in Europe may be starting to subside.
