“Monster” fish caught by US fisherman stuns the Internet

The size of the “monster” fish stunned Internet users.

A US fisherman has surprised social media users by catching a giant tiger musk in Lake Lilinona in Connecticut.

Connecticut Fish & Wildlife shared a photo of the giant fish on Facebook. The caption of the post read, “How’s your summer fishing going?! Thanks to Joe for sharing this photo of musk, an impressive tiger recently caught. The tiger musk is a cross between a northern pike and a muskrat.”

Since being shared, the size of the fish has stunned Internet users. One user wrote, ‘I don’t want to swim anywhere anymore. Another added, “What a monster!” “I wouldn’t be happy to think about that swimming with me. Sounds prehistoric,” said a third. “I wasn’t familiar with the fish and Googled. This could be a record breaker. Nothing seemed to be half the size! impressive,” committed the fourth.

According to newsweek, which were fish released after being caught by Rivas. It was measured to be about 42 inches. Mr Rivas described the fish as “angry” and reportedly said his adrenaline “went through the roof” when he realized what he had caught.

Tiger Musk is also known as Tiger Muskelunge. They are large carnivorous fish and have long, cylindrical shaped bodies and a prominent snout. Adult tiger muskrats can grow to between 34 and 48 inches and weigh over 30 pounds. According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), tiger oysters have a reputation for being difficult to catch and have earned the nickname “the fish of a thousand species.”
