More than 5 lakh devotees sacrifice Bhavani Diksha on top of Indrakeeladri

On the fifth day of Bhavani Deeksha Viram, Purnahuti was performed at Kanak Durga temple on Monday.

Members of the Temple Vedic Committee, Executive Officer (EO) D. Bhramaramba, Engineer L. Ramadevi, Asst EO P. Sudha Rani, Forest Town CI R. Suresh Reddy, Guru Bhavani and temple staff attended the rituals.

The EO said that around 5.4 lakh Bhavanis took initiation during the five-day event. Around 15 lakh ‘Prasadam Laddoos’ were sold, while 23,700 devotees took ‘Anna Prasadam’ and 80,000 took free ‘Prasadam’.

More than one lakh devotees offered their hair. Ms. Bramaramba said the temple management had arranged for 700 new Brahmins to attend round the clock and the annual rituals were performed in the traditional manner.
