Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra has been creating panic on social media long before its release. It was embroiled in controversy and Twitter was often seen with campaigns to boycott Ayan Mukerji’s film. Now that it has finally hit the screens, it has received mixed reviews from the general public on Twitter. Overall the film is getting positive response. Despite the negativity, Brahmastra has ended the dry spell of Bollywood movies at the box office. After registering a record opening of Rs 75 crore worldwide on its opening day, Brahmastra saw a huge jump in its collections on the second day. According to sources close to the development, Brahmastra earned Rs 85 crore worldwide on the second day, taking the total collection so far to Rs 160 crore. However, the official number is still awaited.
Meanwhile, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Hindi version of Brahmastra is said to have netted Rs 37.5 to 38.5 crore domestically on Saturday. It had earlier earned around Rs 35 crore on its opening day as well. This means that the Hindi version of Brahmastra has so far collected over Rs 70 crore in India.
