Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won their fourth title by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 27 runs in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 in Dubai on Friday. Faf du Plessis scored a brilliant half-century, scoring 86 off 59 balls to help CSK post a mammoth total of 192 for three. In reply, KKR could only manage 165 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets. It was a dream comeback for the ‘Men in Yellow’, after finishing the seventh season, CSK managed to win the title. After the win, CSK captain MS Dhoni said that their IPL future depends on how the franchise looks at the upcoming players’ auction.

He said, “I have said earlier also, it depends on the BCCI. With two new teams coming in we have to decide what is good for CSK. It is not about me being in the top three or four. It’s about building a strong core to ensure that the franchise doesn’t suffer. Core group, we have to see who can contribute in the next 10 years,” said MS Dhoni in his post-match presentation. said.

Dhoni said he hopes to see a full house in Chepauk next year.
