Vadodara: Professor Ambika PatelThe Head of the Museum Department of MS University from the Faculty of Fine Arts has been elected as a member of the Executive Board of the Regional Alliance of Asia-Pacific Countries of the International Council of Museums (ICOM ASPAC) during its annual conference held recently in Prague, Czech Republic. She has been elected for a term between 2022 and 2025.
The ICOM ASPAC provides a forum for exchange and collaboration between museum and museum professionals participating in 24 national committees Asia Pacific region. It is a partner of other regional ICOM organizations in the protection, continuation and communication of the world’s natural and cultural heritage.
Patel is the chairman of the ICOM National Committee of India from 2021 to 2024. “It is a matter of pride and privilege to represent India on the Regional Alliance Executive Board, so that national and regional voices can be heard by the global community,” Patel said.
“This opportunity will enable me to raise public cultural awareness through global networks and collaboration programs,” she said.
