Vadodara: Rhythm KarnikA PhD student of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology (VSICMB), MS University, has been awarded the prestigious Junior Research Fellowship by Lady Tata Memorial Trust.LTMT), Mumbai.
Till date, only eleven scholars from Gujarat have received this fellowship.
The Mumbai-based trust started by Sir Dorabji Tata in 1932 provides research fellowships to meritorious students.
This year, out of 16 students from across the country, five students from Gujarat were awarded LTMT fellowships.
Karnik is the first PhD student and the first LTMT-JRF recipient from VSICMB, which was initiated by Professor CV Ramakrishnan, the first head of the Department of Biochemistry and father of the great laureate. Dr. Venkataraman Ramakrishnan, news network
