Mangaluru: The postgraduate student Of Mangalore University (MU) may have to wait for a month or more for them test result to be declared. The result is reportedly delayed, as MU officials are busy rectifying it errors Result of Graduation (UG).
After much delay, the PG examinations were over in September, and the results were about to be declared within a month. Senior professors have pointed out unusual delays, stating that the evaluation work is getting delayed, as the workforce is busy rectifying the errors in UG results.
“If all was well, the results should have been declared within a month of the examination being conducted. Currently, it is delayed by more than three months, and may take another month or more to be announced. Evaluation has been completed for only a few PG courses. The chaos is because the university has adopted the in-house exam software MuLinx,” said a senior professor.
Another professor, requesting the university to declare the result at the earliest, said that PG students who have to apply for jobs or plan for advanced studies are affected, as they are likely to miss out on opportunities.
PS Yadpaditya, Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University admits that the PG results are long delayed. “At present the examination section is focusing on clearing the UG result, due to which the PG result has been delayed. When the responsibility was assigned to private firms, the evaluation work of both UG and PG exams was done simultaneously. This time it was not possible.”
“A committee constituted to do the failure mode analysis has submitted the report. It will be presented during the syndicate meeting to be held on Monday. “MULinx has created a lot of problems for the examination process. I am in favor of changing the software, and will express this during the Syndicate meeting,” emphasized Yadapadithya.
