Mukesh Ambani secures richest Asian tag, surpasses Gautam Adani – Times of India

New Delhi: Chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani retrieved on wednesday richest asian Tag, a day after billionaire gautam adani had surpassed him for the top spot.
According to the global ranking of billionaires given by Bloomberg, with a net worth of $89.2 billion, Ambani has been placed at 10th position, while Adani has dropped 1 place to 11th.
Over the past few months, Adani and Ambani have been swapping positions for the top spot in the billionaires rankings.

Just a day earlier, Adani – which transformed a small commodity trading business into a conglomerate spanning ports, mines and green energy – had become Asia’s richest person with a net worth of $88.5 billion. Ambani’s wealth on the same day was $87.9 billion.
However, shares of some of the group companies of Adani closed with a fall today, while the stock of Reliance has remained in the green since yesterday.
As a result, Adani’s net worth declined by $2.16 billion and slipped to the 11th spot in the list of global billionaires.
Meanwhile, Mukesh Ambani earned $1.33 billion during the day and made it to the list of top 10 richest people in the world.
However, both Adani and Ambani remain above Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, French billionaire François Bettencourt Meyers and Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.
Interestingly, Adani is the highest gainer in the world this year with his personal wealth increasing by around $12 billion.
The wealth gap between the two richest Indians narrowed amid the pandemic. Whereas, Adani’s net worth grew by 894 per cent since the outbreak of Kovid, Ambani jumped 72 per cent.
