Javed Akhtar on Aryan Khan drug case: This is the price the film industry has to pay for being high profile
Lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar while addressing the media during an event in Mumbai on Tuesday expressed his views on the recent cruise drug bust by NCB in which actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has been detained. Referring to the Mundra port drug bust by the NIA on September 13, where 2988.21 kg of narcotic drug was seized in Gujarat, the 76-year-old said, “I have not seen any headline on the seizure of cocaine worth $1 billion at a port. But the recovery of 1.30 lakh charas or ganja, where only 1200 people were present, has become big national news.”
Adding to this, Akhtar spoke about the October 2 raid on the Cordelia cruise ship, the lyricist said, “This is the price the film industry has to pay for being high profile because when you are like that, people want to drag you down.”
