Mumbai-Jodhpur train derails in Rajasthan, 11 coaches affected

The train was going to Jodhpur from Bandra Terminus.

At least eleven coaches were affected following the derailment of the Bandra Terminus-Jodhpur Suryanagari Express near Pali in Rajasthan in the early hours of Monday, North Western Railway (NWR) said. According to Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NWR, “11 coaches of Bandra Terminus-Jodhpur Suryanagari Express train were affected due to the derailment. The incident took place between Rajkiawas-Bomdara section of Jodhpur division at 3.27 am. The CPRO said that the train had left Bandra Terminus and was on its way to Jodhpur.

Passengers told that the incident took place within five minutes of the departure of the train from Marwar Junction.

No casualty has been reported so far, the sources said, while the accident relief train had also reached the spot soon after the incident.

North Western Railway has also issued helpline numbers for passengers and concerned family members.

Passengers aboard the train said they were scared of the derailment.

One of the passengers said, “The train had moved five minutes past Marwar Junction when we heard a loud noise and the train stopped. We got down only to see the sleeper class coaches off the track. Within 15-20 minutes an ambulance arrived.” She came.” ,
