Mumbai local update: Train services disrupted; Rail fracture on Harbor line

Mumbai Local Updates: For the second consecutive day, train services on the Harbor Line in Mumbai were disrupted on July 27 due to a rail fracture near Govandi station. Suburban services on the Down (Panvel-bound) line were halted for about 40 minutes due to a rail crack near Govandi station. The Harbor Line provides rail connectivity from South Mumbai to Panvel in Navi Mumbai and the adjoining Raigad district.

Services on the Harbor Line were also affected on Tuesday (July 26) after a local train derailed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in south Mumbai.

Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Shivaji Sutar said the fracture was detected on July 27 at 7.50 am and traffic was restored on the line at 8.30 am. Local train services, considered to be Mumbai’s lifeline, were disrupted during the morning rush on the Harbor Line.
