Mumbai University’s third merit list to release today, despite UGC order banning admission till CBSE results

“It has come to notice that some universities have started registration in undergraduate Syllabus for the session (2022-2023) In this scenario, the student If the last date is decided by the universities before the declaration of CBSE results, then admission to CBSE undergraduate courses will be denied,” the UGC had said.

Colleges like St Xavier’s, Jai Hind, Narsee Monjee, Mithibai Colleges have set aside the percentage of seats for CBSE, ISC students. Whereas colleges like Burhani, Ismail Yusuf, Thakur College, Wilson College, St Andrews are all set to release their merit list today. HR College of Commerce has already released the third list. The UGC had said that the entire process of CBSE result preparation may take around a month.

“The schools have already been informed about the performance of Term-I. Term-II evaluation is going on and the result preparation process will start. The final result will be declared on the basis of performance of both the conditions by combining the weightage. The entire process for the declaration of result will take around a month,” the UGC said.

A similar timeline is expected this year as well. Meanwhile, CISCE ISC or Class 12 is likely to be released soon by July 16. The delay in the formation of the result is due to the two-term examination being held this year. Moreover, the formula to calculate the final result is yet to be decided as the weightage to be given to each term, practical and internals is yet to be announced.

Students who have applied for Mumbai University UG courses – BA, BCom and BSc can check the third merit list on the official website – mu.ac.in as well as on the college websites. Students shortlisted in the third list must have completed online verification of documents and online fee payment between July 14 and July 16. MU had released the first merit list on June 29 and the second on July 7.
