Mumbai’s new Covid-19 rules: BMC eases restrictions for parks, restaurants

Mumbai’s Municipal Corporation on Tuesday eased COVID-19 restrictions in state capital Maharashtra by lifting the night curfew and allowing restaurants and theaters to operate at 50 per cent capacity.

“Beachs, Gardens and Parks shall remain open as per normal timings… Amusement/Theme Park shall remain operational with 50 per cent of operational capacity,” the order reads.

The order eased restrictions by allowing swimming pools and water parks to open with 50 per cent capacity.

“Weddings can have open ground and guests up to 25 per cent of the capacity of the banquet hall or 200 whichever is less,” the order said.

The Municipal Corporation, through its Tuesday order, has also allowed tourist places and weekly markets to open as per normal timings.

According to the BMC on Tuesday, Mumbai reported 803 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

The BMC said there are 8,888 active COVID-19 patients with 1,8000 people being discharged in the last 24 hours.
