Mysterious Glow Lights Up Night Sky in Southampton, Residents Confused

On February 28, a mysterious blue and orange glow lit up the night sky in Southampton, England. Confused by the glow, which could be seen from miles away, residents shared videos of the incident on social media and expressed excitement and panic. While some of them said that the glow was due to “aliens” heading towards the St. Denis train station, others expressed concern about some sort of incident there. Now the police have disclosed the reason behind the incident.

One Twitter user, Anthony Weldon, described the glow as the return of “aliens” on the evening of February 28.

He tweeted a video of the incident, “St Denis train station… don’t know why, honestly thought aliens returned for Fallen Carrington.”

The video was viewed by over 6,000 people. Others, too, shared footage of the glow taken from different areas of the city, seeking information from other users.

“Anyone else saw the lights in the sky in Southampton?” asked a user.

A user also tweeted South Western Railway (SWR) about the mysterious glow near St Denis train station.

SWR thanked the user for the information, and said they were aware of “a problem in St. Denis”.

In a later tweet, the same user wrote that “some kids threw an electric scooter on the track”.

Another user saw an ambulance and a fire brigade heading towards that part of the city.

On March 1, a day after the incident, the British Transport Police told hampshire live The blaze was caused by an electrical fault after a group of youths threw the scooter on the tracks. Police said they are probing the matter and searches are on to identify and trace the youths.

Scooty has been recovered from the track. Train service at the station was disrupted due to this incident.

The police have asked to contact witnesses, or any other person who has the information.
