A 25-year-old man from Geddapeta village of Padmanabham mandal of the district died in a train accident in Odisha’s Rayagada on Tuesday night. The body of Shiva reached his native place here on Friday morning. However, the family members of Shiva suspect a conspiracy in the matter.
According to family members, Shiva used to work in an electric shop in Padmanabham. On Tuesday, he went for a picnic with his friends in Raigad along with his co-workers and boss. While the rest returned home, Shiva did not return. The family members alleged that Shiva’s associates and owner must have killed him.
Padmanabham police said that according to Odisha police, Shiva is suspected to have fallen from a moving train or was hit by a train. Colleagues and the owner informed the police that Shiva got off the vehicle on Tuesday evening when they were going from Raigad to Padmanabham, allegedly after an altercation with colleagues. They also said that there was no trace of him despite searching for him, so they had left him and came back. Case has been registered and investigation is on.
