NABARD’s Grameen Habba to showcase rural art in Bengaluru

NABARD, Karnataka Regional Office, is organizing its annual marketing event ‘Gramina Habba’, a platform for rural artisans to sell agriculture, handicrafts and handloom products, in Bengaluru till March 14. This year, Grameen Habba is being organized at Mantri Square Mall. Malleswaram.

Rural artisans, weavers, farmers and tribes across India and many districts of Karnataka celebrate this festival with handmade art, handloom saris, hand woven dress materials, home decorations, tribal products, natural beauty products, organic food products, jewelry and accessories. Tools are displayed.

The income they earn from selling these products will directly reach the artisans.

Artisans from Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Odisha and Chhattisgarh are participating along with more than 25 artisans from different districts of Karnataka.

Exclusive products from Karnataka, including Udupi sarees, kasuti work, aari embroidered fabrics, Channapatna toys, unique rosewood inlay from Mysore, Kolhapuri chappals, ready made home decor, organic food products and products from other parts of India such as Jaipuri quilts . Lac bangles from Bhopal, Maheshwari silk from Madhya Pradesh, Arni silk from Tamil Nadu, Ikat sarees from Telangana, Kosa silk sarees from Chhattisgarh, Spices and temple crafts from Kerala, Jewelery from Odisha and Bed sheets from Uttar Pradesh will be available.

According to NABARD, the current COVID-19 situation has undoubtedly caused havoc in the entire economy, especially the rural economy. These types of exhibitions play a vital role in rebuilding the rural economy after COVID-19.
