Since the delimitation of wards is done on the basis of population, the disparity in the geographical area of the wards is inevitable. According to experts, this causes inconvenience to the people in reaching out to the corporators and the latter in getting the work done in the wards with huge area.
The average population in the wards is 47,067. Ward no. It has the lowest population of 41,962. 14. Maximum population of 51,366 in North Nagpur Ward no. 51 in South Nagpur.
Ward no. There will be 37, 47,374 voters but it will be the largest in area as it is from MIDC Hingna T-point to Swami Vivekananda Memorial to Sudam Nagri from Hill Top to Ram Nagar Square to Laxmi Bhuvan Square to Law College Square to Futala T. – From Air Force Nagar to the end of the city at Wadi and back to MIDC Hingna T-Point.
This ward will include both the big lakes of the city – Ambazari and Phutla.
Ward no. 22 is the smallest in size but has a population of 50,998. This is because it includes Mominpura, Hansapuri and surrounding areas in central Nagpur, which are very congested.
