The criticism came in the wake of the arrest after a high-drama rave party raid on the Cordelia cruise ship by the NCB on 2 October during its Mumbai-Goa voyage. On 7 October, a Mumbai court rejected his bail plea, and the bail pleas of two others. He was among the 8 people arrested. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar rejected Aryan’s bail application. Arbaaz Merchant, And munmun dhamecha, on “maintenance” grounds, upholding the arguments of the Narcotics Control Bureau’s legal team.

Aryan is currently in judicial custody for 14 days while his legal team has moved the sessions court and his bail hearing is likely to take place on Monday, October 11.
