NASA aims to launch Artemis rocket in November

America’s leading space agency NASA said on Friday that it will try to launch its Moon mega-rocket in November without specifying any specific date for the long-running Artemis 1 mission. The latest postponement in the Artemis 1 mission comes after Hurricane Ian severely hit Florida this week. Now its target is to fly between November 12 and November 27.

NASA updated about the development in a blog post, saying, “As teams complete post-hurricane recovery operations, NASA has determined that it will focus efforts on planning the Artemis I launch that will take place in the future.” It opens on 12th November and closes on 27th November.

“In the coming days, managers will assess the scope of work to be performed at the VAB and identify a specific date for the next launch attempt”

“The focus on the November launch period allows Kennedy employees time to address the needs of their families and homes after the storm and to identify additional checkouts needed before returning to the pad for launch.” this couple

NASA had to return the SLS rocket – the most powerful ever designed by the space agency – to its storage hangar at Kennedy Space Center on Tuesday to protect it from Hurricane Ian.

talking about the impact of Hurricane Ian On Artemis-1, the space agency said, “There has been no damage to the Artemis flight hardware, and the facilities are in good condition, with only minor water intrusions identified in a few locations.”

In late August and early September, NASA attempted to launch the unmanned Artemis 1 mission, but both failed and had to be abandoned due to technical issues.

NASA’s flagship program Artemis 1 will be its first mission to the Moon in fifty years and the last mission will be the Apollo program.

Artemis 1 will also carry the Orion capsule on top of the rocket and could be used to safely take a crew to the Moon in the future.
