“Naseem Shah, remember the name.” Ugly scenes seen in Sharjaho Cricket Stadium when Asif Ali of Pakistan and Afghanistan Bowler Farid Ahmed was dismissed midway during a cracker in the Asia Cup match on Wednesday. However, the attention quickly shifted from the on-pitch drama to the batting of young bowler Naseem Shah, who hit two consecutive sixes to push Pakistan over the finish line.
Pakistan, who were reduced to 119/9 chasing a modest target of 130, needed 11 from the last over and Shah got two full tosses. The rest was history.
Naseem Shah soon became the hero of all in Pakistan. The thrilling win also meant that Pakistan advanced to the final where they will face Sri Lanka on Sunday. India and Afghanistan were both eliminated after the secret victory of Pakistan.

After being confined to a level below 129/8, Afghanistan opened their hearts to make a match out of it. He launched a staunch defense of his clan. He neutralized the threats of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz and pushed the match into the last over.
Fazlhaq Farooqui and Farid Ahmed took three wickets each to keep Afghanistan’s hopes alive. However, in the deciding over, Farooqui worked his way up the yorker length delivery but failed to execute them properly.
