Story: The protagonist, Siva, is a journalist in Madanapalle, and he manipulates events in and around his village for financial gain. However, he falls in love with another local journalist, Neela, and moves skillfully while staying in the good books of two local politicians, Nagi Reddy and Karunakar Reddy.
While Shiva’s guilt haunts him from time to time, his survival instincts prevail. Shiva’s life is about to change drastically when a new sub-inspector, Edwin, arrives in town. The series shows that the media, which is supposed to help the victims during a disaster, focuses more on the criminals and exposes them.
Review: Had this concept been used in the making of the film, it would have been severely criticized. However, it has been found that it was a smart move by the makers to convert it into a web series. The series has shown that media and all journalists are slaves of money and power. There is a scene in the series where a farmer’s land is taken over by a politician’s goons. When the farmer visits the local office, they turn him down saying that all the papers are from the politician. Then the farmer knocks on the door of some journalists, who drive him away as well. Later it is learned that the farmer has been killed by goons and the journalist reports in the newspaper with the headline that he has committed suicide by consuming insecticide. There are some similar stories in the series as well.
Performances: Navdeep is cast in a role with varied gray tones and believable as a small-town journalist, and Bindu Madhavi is natural as an aspiring television host. Apart from the main characters, the supporting cast has left a deep impression on the audience; Nanda Gopal, Katta Anthony, and Shelly Nabu Kumar are all excellent in their short appearances. The series also stars the likes of Nalla Sridhara Reddy, Mahima Srinivas and Venkatraman Ayyagari as supporting cast. The series is directed by Mr. Praveen Kumar.
As per reports, the show has received mixed reviews from the critics. However, it is becoming popular with the audience, and many are looking forward to its second season.
