The fourth day of Navratri i.e. Chaturthi Tithi is dedicated to Goddess Kushmanda, the fourth form of Navadurga. Chaturthi Tithi according to Panchang and Tritiya Tithi It is to fall on the same date which is 9th October as it will end before sunrise on 10th October. Goddess Kushmanda is considered to be the creator of this universe. This form of Goddess Durga is believed to reside at the center of the Sun to balance the amount of energy and light released to the universe.

Kushmanda is a symbol of light and energy. He is depicted with eight hands, holding the kamandala, bow, big and lotus on his right and the nectar kalash, japa mala, mace and chakra on his left. Because of this she is also known as Ashtabhuja Devi.

The Chaturthi Tithi of Navratri will be between 07:48 am, 9th October to 04:55 am, 10th October. Maa Chandraghanta Puja during Abhijit Muhurta can be done from 11:45 am to 12:31 pm or Amrit Kalam from 08 am. :48 AM to 10:15 AM.
