Navratri 2022: The nine-day Hindu festival in which nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped will culminate with the festival of Vijayadashami or Dussehra. After a gap of two years, people will be able to celebrate Mahanavami and Durga Puja without any restrictions. On Durga Ashtami, devotees worship Goddess Durga and observe a fast. It is said that the last two days of Navratri hold a special significance among Hindus. Celebrated with much enthusiasm, joy and enthusiasm, the main attraction of these two days is the ritual known as Kanya Pujan. Devotees complete the rituals on Ashtami or Navami.

This year, Shardiya Navratri is celebrated from 26 September to 5 October. Ashtami, also known as Durga Ashtami, is the eighth day of Navratri. It is considered to be the most important day during this period and devotees worship Maa Mahagauri and perform Kanya Puja.

This year Ashtami will be celebrated on 3rd October. As per the Drik Panchang, Ashtami Tithi will start on 2nd October at 06:47 PM and will end on 3rd October at 04:37 PM.

Durga Ashtami 2022: Worship Method

On the eighth day of Navratri, put red dupatta and red tilak on the idol of the goddess. Clean the place where you have to worship and then place an idol or picture of Goddess Mahagauri. Worship the Goddess with white flowers in your hands.

Kanya Puja: Significance

Women worship has special significance in Navratri. The Navratri fast of the devotees is completed only after worshiping the nine girls as the images of the nine goddesses. After being pleased with Prasad or Dakshina, Maa Durga blesses the devotees. On this day devotees worship Maa Mahagauri. He is a symbol of purity, peace and tranquility.
