NCB arrests 2 more people in cruise ship drug case

The anti-drug agency had earlier on October 2 raided a Goa-bound ship and arrested nine people, including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan.

The Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested two more people in connection with the seizure of banned drugs from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast, an NCB official said on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

The anti-drug agency had earlier arrested nine people. In which Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan is also involved., after the raid on the Goa-bound ship on Saturday.

After the raid, the Mumbai Zonal Unit of NCB launched a crackdown on drug smugglers linked to the arrested persons. The agency also brought some suspects, including the cruise ship, to the NCB’s office here for investigation, the official said.

The officer, without revealing his identity, said the role of two more people came to light during the interrogation of the suspects, following which they were arrested.

So far 11 people have been arrested in connection with the seizure of banned narcotics from the cruise ship.

The NCB had on October 4 claimed before a city court that “shocking and objectionable” material recovered in WhatsApp chats of Aryan Khan and two others arrested in connection with the case reflected international drug trafficking.

The Narcotics Control Bureau, which remanded Aryan Khan (23) and eight other accused from the court till Thursday, also claimed that in a WhatsApp chat, he was discussing payment methods for the purchase (of drugs) and that Multiple code names are being used.

Aryan Khan’s lawyer claimed that no drugs were recovered from his client.
