NCB Mumbai chief Sameer Wankhede seeks protection from false implication

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Mumbai regional director Sameer Wankhede wrote to the city police commissioner seeking protection from alleged conspiracy to “planned” legal action against him by unidentified persons in connection with an alleged vigilance issue. In his single-page letter addressed to Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale, Wankhede said he has come to know that some “legal action” has been taken by unknown persons to falsely implicate him in connection with the alleged vigilance issue at NCB Cr. Planning is being done. 94/2021.

He further mentioned that Deputy Director General (DDG) Mutha Ashok Jain has already referred the said matter to the Director General (DG) of NCB for necessary action.

Wankhede, a 2008 batch IRS officer, claimed without taking names that threats of jail and dismissal have been issued against him on public media by highly respected public functionaries.

He requested the Commissioner of Police to ensure that no such legal action is taken to falsely implicate him with malafide intentions.
