NCP activists in custody trying to take out march to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister’s residence in Nagpur; released later

Over 20 Nationalist Congress Party workers were detained for a few hours on Monday after they tried to march towards the Nagpur residence of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a police official said.

They were protesting against what they claimed to be relocating large projects from Maharashtra to neighboring Gujarat, he said.

“The NCP group had gathered in the afternoon to march to the Deputy CM’s house at the Traffic Children’s Park. However, he was taken into custody and taken to the local police station. All of them were released in the evening,” he said.
