Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Monday after his health deteriorated and is likely to be released on Wednesday, the party said.

NCP general secretary Shivajirao Garje said in a statement that the 81-year-old Rajya Sabha member will remain in the hospital for the next few days and will later attend the party’s meeting beginning on November 3.

Garge said the veteran politician was admitted after complaining of uneasiness on the advice of his doctor.

“He will be in the hospital for three days and is expected to be discharged on November 2. He will attend a two-day meeting of the party beginning on November 3,” he said. hospital.

Pawar was earlier admitted to the hospital on April 11, 2021, when he was due to undergo gallbladder surgery the next day. Earlier, on March 30, 2021, Pawar had undergone an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedure to remove a gallstone that had slipped into his bile duct.

The veteran leader is also expected to attend the Congress’ Bharat Jodi Yatra, a day after he entered Maharashtra in Nanded on November 8.

Earlier, Pawar said Congress leaders Ashok Chavan and Balasaheb Thorat met and invited him to be a part of the visit undertaken by Rahul Gandhi. Confirming the development, Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole on Sunday said that Pawar has accepted the invitation to be a part of the nationwide march.
