NCPCR’s Exam Parv 4.0 for a stress free exam session – Times of India

National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has introduced Pariksha Parva 4.0 to help students deal with problems related to exam stress and anxiety.

Under this initiative, students will get mentorship from experts from state education departments and those associated with the district mental health programme. ‘Pariksha Yoddha’ books will be given to COVID-affected children, residential school students and physically challenged students to help them cope with exam-related stress. Students will be able to interact with experts to reduce the anxiety that rises during the exam and result season.

Education TimesPriyank Kanungo, Chairman, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) says, “We will conduct Pariksha Parv 4.0 in all schools across the country to remove exam-related stress among students. Last year the initiative had to be called off due to Kovid. ,

“NCPCR has introduced many new activities in Pariksha Parv 4.0 including ‘Pariksha Yoddha’ competition where students can guide and support their peers and juniors to deal with stress. “We received videos from students who are teaching stress management to fellow students and dealing with exam pressure. We aim to sensitize school heads, school counselors and teachers across the country with the help of the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR). For the first time, we will also conduct exam stress management sessions before the declaration of the result,” says Kanungo.

“Some NGOs will also help NCPCR by distributing ‘Exam Warrior’ books that guide students to deal with their emotions during exams. To ensure that students remain stress free during their exams, we have increased our Samvad tele-counselling number through which they will get proper counseling from counselors to eliminate exam centric stress. Existing counselors who are associated with state education departments and the district mental health program will advise the students,” informs Kanungo.

Recently, we invited a student named Avi Sharma, a PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar recipient, to deliver a lecture on exam stress alleviation during an interactive session with students, says Kanungo.

Sudha Acharya, Chairperson, National Progressive Schools Conference (NPSC) says, “We conduct stress management sessions for class X and XII before exams. We will participate in Pariksha Parva 4.0 by NCPCR. Such a campaign is the need of the hour as the mental health of the students has been adversely affected due to COVID in the last two years. Board exams and CUET are also increasing the tension among the students.
