India’s ace javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra created a new national record by throwing 89.3m at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland. Neeraj improved his record of 87.58m which he achieved during the Tokyo Olympics. Neeraj Chopra became India’s first Olympic gold medalist from athletics and only the second individual gold medalist at the Olympics.
Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal with his throw, his first outing of the season.
