The petition challenges the violation of the NEET PG Regulations, 2000, while admitting candidates for the academic session in a single session with “a clear limit on the number of PG admissions to be made per unit per year”, said a lawyer firm .

Several hundred MBBS graduates, whose internship was halted due to their duty in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic, would be disqualified from appearing in the NEET-PG examination due to lack of mandatory internship duty, that too through no fault of their own, the plea said. The petition has sought extension of the deadline for completion of internship from May 31.
