Tridev Vinayak S from Madurai has emerged as the state topper in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 securing an all India rank of 30. The result of which was released on Wednesday night,

talking to HinduShri Vinayak said that this was his first attempt and was elated by the achievement. “The aspiration to become a doctor took root in my 10th standard as my interest in science grew,” he said.

According to official figures, the boy from Madurai scored 705 out of 720, secured a percentage of 99.99 and was ranked 18th in the list of 20 male toppers.

He devoted five hours after school and eight hours on holidays to preparation, while his healthy dose of relaxation was painting. He had enrolled in a private NEET coaching center and the support of his school teachers helped him do well in the examination, Mr. Vinayak said.

“From day one, he was focused and consistent in his preparation which was commendable. He also stands as a proof that students can prepare for their class XII board as well as clear NEET,” said academic head of Ila-Gen, a two-year integrated competitive classroom at Mahatma Global Gateway Program James Francis said.

His parents, G Prabhu and SK Sughanthi attributed his success to his hard work. “No matter what happens, his concentration never wavered. He naturally learned a lot and achieved the goal he had set for himself,” he said.

Mr Vinayak said he wants to practice as a surgeon and is hopeful of earning a seat at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).
