The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2024 registration for admission to the five-year Integrated MSc programme in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics will commence today, March 30. This MSc programme is offered by the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai and the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar.

Candidates can visit the official website of NEST at nestexam.in and apply for the entrance exam. Through the NEST 2024 scores, a total of 257 seats will be filled. The NEST 2024 exam is all set to be conducted on June 30 in two shifts. The first shift will begin at 9 am and run until 12:30 pm, while the second shift will be held from 2:30 pm to 6 pm. The results of the NEST 2024 exam will be declared on July 10.

NEST 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria will be considered eligible for the NEST entrance exam:

1. Students must have passed the Class 12 board examination from any recognised education board in India in 2022 or 2023.

2. Candidates who are appearing for the board examination in 2024 are also eligible for admission into the programme.

3. Candidates seeking admission to NISER and UM-DAE CEBS for the Integrated MSc programme 2024–29 should have studied the science stream in classes XI and XII.

4. Applicants must secure at least 60 per cent marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade in Class XII to be eligible for NISER and UM-DAE CEBS admission.

5. Candidates falling under the scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST), and Divyangjan categories need to fulfill the minimum requirement of 55 per cent in aggregate or equivalent grade in the class XII board examination.

6. Talking about the age limit, there is no minimum or maximum age for appearing in the NEST 2024 examination.

Candidates who are offered admission would be eligible for an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000 via the DISHA programme of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. In addition to that, scholarship awardees would also receive a grant of Rs 20,000 every year for summer internships. Moreover, top performers at NISER and UM-DAE CEBS, as well as those students who achieve overall grades above a particular cut-off will be eligible to appear directly for the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) training school interview.
