Streamer Netflix is planning to develop two sequels to its recent hit “Red Notice,” starring Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.

The action film, which premiered on Netflix in November last year, was directed by writer-filmmaker Rawson Marshall Thurber, who previously worked with Johnson on films like “Central Intelligence” and “Skyscraper.”

According to time limit, Thurber is expected to resume filmmaking duties and plans to shoot two sequels back-to-back.

Given the busy schedule of the main cast, the streaming service aims to begin production on the sequel in 2023.

Two new films are yet to be officially announced by Netflix.

“Red Notice” stars Johnson as the top FBI profiler, Gadot as the world’s most wanted art thief, and Reynolds as the world’s greatest thief ever. They are all brought together for a daring heist that turns the world on its head.

Although the film received mixed reviews, according to Netflix, it clocked 328.8 million viewing hours on the streaming platform, surpassing the record previously held by Sandra Bullock’s 2018 thriller “Bird Box” of 282 million.

The film was produced by Beau Flynn through his Flynn Pictures banner, with Johnson, Hiram Garcia and Danny Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions.

Thurber also produced through his Bad Version Productions, and Scott Sheldon of the Flynn Picture Company served as an executive producer.
