Get ready to hold your breath because #TheArchies are about to unleash their magic! tweeted Netflix India.

One user commented on Netflix’s Instagram post, saying, “honey wake up, Netflix is about to throw another steaming pile of shit at us.” Another user questioned Netflix’s approach in India, while another criticized the “nepo launch” in the movie. Despite the backlash, “The Archies” is scheduled to release later this year.

A user expressed their anticipation, urging for the announcement of the date soon. They mentioned that Miss Veronica Lodge and her gang are set to capture the hearts of many.

Zoya Akhtar’s previous directorial works, such as “Luck By Chance,” “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,” “Gully Boy,” and “Dil Dhadakne Do,” have attained cult classic status.

Netizens have criticized the film’s cast, accusing them of promoting nepotism. Some users expressed concerns that the Netflix film would “ruin your fav comics and childhood memories.” Others questioned the industry’s repeated attempts to launch “nepo kids,” stating that there is no interest in them, reported News9Live.

The Hindi film industry has been under scrutiny since the unfortunate demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020. The focus shifted to Karan Johar and his alleged practice of promoting star kids in the industry, triggered by Kangana Ranaut. This led to a wave of media backlash and the emergence of the cancel culture movement known as “Boycott Bollywood” on Twitter.
